Was really fun. The children enjoyed learning about food labels, healthy beverages, and preparing healthy snacks they can make at home. Georgia, our nutritionist volunteer did an activity regarding sugar and the effects it has on the body. The children practiced their math skills and learned about grams and serving sizes. I taught the students how to make Veggie macaroni and cheese from scratch and they loved it! They all cut veggies and some helped me mix the butter and flour together to make the sauce. Marvin mentioned: “I really like this and will tell my mom to make it at home”.
